Our Leadership
The Optometric Physicians of Washington leadership devote many hours, outside of the normal demands of work and personal lives, to help move optometry forward in Washington State. This group of O.D.s, with support from other structure teams and society leaders, help the organization navigate through the political and fiscal landscape facing todays Optometrists.

About Our Leadership
Dr. Dana Cocke’ was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. He holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry from California State University-Stanislaus, a Bachelor of Sciences in Visual Sciences, and a Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 2016, he completed a Masters in Public Health from Salus University. Dr. Cocke’ served on the AOA VISION USA Committee from 2004 to 2018, with the last 3 years as Committee Chair before the project was disbanded. His role included coordinating the Washington VISION USA Project from 1999 to 2018. From 2018 to 2021, he served on the AOA Third Party Center Committee before joining the OPW Executive Committee. Additionally, he served on the OPW COVID task force during the pandemic. Dr. Cocke’ has been in solo practice since 1996 to present and worked in a Puyallup Ophthalmology practice for 5 years. He has participated in VOSH trips and several MD/OD brigades in Honduras, Guatemala, and India with Sight to the Blind, Inc. His wife Pamela is a teacher in Tacoma and he has two teenagers; a son Cameron and a daughter Catherine. His goals as OPW President are to continue to advocate strongly for the future of our profession and continue to be a public health ambassador within his community. |

Dr. Andrea Morton was born and raised in Camas, WA where she was fascinated by the field of optometry from an early age. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Washington. Postgraduate, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University’s College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR, graduating with honors, and concurrently earned her Master of Education with the subspecialty of Visual Function in Learning. In addition to her studies, she was involved with OPW as a Student Liaison. Dr. Morton has also received her fellowship through the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association. Dr. Morton received the OPW Student of the Year award in 2015 and later that year, began her role as President of the Southwest Optometric Society through 2021. She received the Young Doctor of Optometry of the Year award for her dedication and leadership. In 2022, she joined the OPW Board of Trustees, where she served on the Membership Committee of the Invest Division. The following year, she was appointed Vice President of the Association. Currently, Dr. Morton serves as OPW's President-Elect and continues in her role as the Washington InfantSEE State Advocate for the American Optometric Association. Dr. Morton specializes in pediatric eye care, vision therapy, neuro-rehabilitation, and sports vision training. She strives to help her patients and the community understand that vision means much more than simply seeing 20/20. She loves the challenge of helping children in their development and treating underlying vision problems to help students read and learn -- in turn, giving them more opportunities and choices in life. When not in the office, Dr. Morton can be found enjoying the great outdoors as she cycles, runs, and hikes all over the NW. She also frequents live music events and spends time at the coast. |

Dr. Daniel Schrempp was born in Lewiston, ID, and grew up south of Spokane in Rockford, WA. He attended Eastern Washington University and Pacific University College of Optometry, graduating in 2011. Dr. Schrempp completed his hospital-based residency at the PHS Indian Health Hospital in Zuni, NM. He started practicing medical optometry in 2012 at Hollingshead Eye and Surgery Center in Boise, ID. In 2014 he transitioned to Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute, first serving in Idaho and now Washington. During his time in Idaho, he was deeply involved in organized optometry serving as both President and Idaho’s Director of the GWCO Board. Dr. Schrempp was the recipient of Idaho’s ‘Young Optometrist of the Year’ award in 2019 and ‘Presidents Award’ in 2022. In 2024, Dr. Schrempp was appointed Vice President of the OPW. Personable, caring, and straightforward, Dr. Daniel Schrempp has a friendly, upbeat personality and a practical approach to things. He enjoys long-distance running, reading, and time with his family. Daniel and his wife Aubre, a special education teacher, live in Spokane Washington. They have four daughters and one son — Abigail, Mira Bell, Rosemary, Sarah, and Emrys. |

Dr. Alison Jensen is a native of the Pacific Northwest and grew up in Bellevue, WA. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. She then went on to achieve her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Jensen has held internships at the Crownpoint Health Care Facility Indian Health Service serving the Navajo community in Crownpoint, NM, California School for the Blind, UC Berkeley Sports Medicine Complex for athletes and community members suffering from concussion, Walter Reed Medical Center, and the Eastern Oklahoma VA. She proudly joined her father’s practice following graduation in May 2020 as a third-generation optometrist at Renton Vision Source. In her free time, she enjoys music, reading, film, and podcasts. As a member of OPW and AOA, she serves as Secretary to the former. |

Dr. Michael Sirott grew up in Virginia near Washington D.C. He completed undergraduate school in 1998 at the University of Mary Washington with a bachelor's degree in biology and visual science. In 2002, he graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed a post-doctorate residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Huntington, WV. After finishing this training in 2003, he moved to Spokane, drawn to the beauty of the Northwest. Dr. Sirott served as president of OPW from 2022-23 and dedicated a significant amount of time, effort, and personal sacrifice to advance Washington state's scope of practice legislation. In addition to his role as president, he chaired the PR Committee, the coalition of scope-related committees, and checked in weekly to ensure the scope bill's success in 2023. He graduated from the AOA’s Leadership Institute 2.0 course that same year. Dr. Sirott continues to serve as the chair of the PR Committee and is currently chair of the Federal Legislation Committee and Awards Team. For many years, Dr. Sirott has also been involved in organizing and participating in bicycle racing. He supports the Washington State Bicycling Association (WSBA) as part of the Board and as a liaison to USA Cycling (USAC), aiding and influencing bike racing throughout our state and beyond. |
