NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR 2019

JACK HALE MEMORIAL, ROBIN CAMERON MEMORIAL, YOUNG OD OF THE YEAR, & OD OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The Optometric Physicians of Washington honors outstanding accomplishments of its members and community through the awards program. Friday, March 31, 2019 is the deadline for submitting nominations for OPW's honorary awards, to be presented at the OPW Member Appreciation Party at GWCO this fall.  Nomination forms, qualifications and a list of prior award winners are attached/enclosed. Please help us honor qualified candidates by submitting a nomination to the state office for the following awards:

  • OD of the Year: This award honors the accomplishments of an OD who has been in practice more than 10 years.
  • Young OD of the Year:  This award honors the accomplishments of an OD who has been in practice less than 10 years.
  • Jack Hale  Memorial Award:  This achievement award may be given to anyone (optometric physician or not) who has distinguished himself/herself in the spirit of Dr. Hale's long term service to optometry and the community at large.
  • Robin Cameron Memorial Award:  This award is to encourage active participation in the association by a new member, who has been an OPW member ten (10) years or less.

There are so many of our colleagues that are excellent candidates for the work they have done in their communities or in optometry, or both!  Let's make sure that they are nominated so they may receive the recognition they deserve by the profession of optometry. These accomplishments not only bring honor to the recipient but also respect to the practice and profession of optometry.

Nominations are due March 31, 2019, and can be made online or by downloading and returning the paperwork to the office.
